Where is Pokhara?

Pokhara is located in central Nepal and is the second-largest city, after Kathmandu, in the country.

It borders Lake Phewa and is the gateway to the Annapurna range of the Himalayan Mountains. It’s nestled in a fertile valley surrounded by outstanding scenery.

How to Get To Pokhara

Pokhara has a small airport that is most easily accessed via the Kathmandu International Airport.

Currently, only a few airlines fly into Pokhara – the most popular being Yeti Airlines and Buddha Air. You could also take a bus from Kathmandu, but it’s a long, bumpy ride! Check the out listings here.

  • Tiger Mountain Lodge is a little pricey, but I think it’s worth every penny. Dinner is served communally each night and it’s a wonderful way to meet other guests. The cabins are delightful and have spectacular views.
  • Glacier Hotel is well located, nicely appointed, and reasonably priced.

Where to Eat in Pokhara

  • Roadhouse – if you want a good pizza. Roadhouse also has locations in Kathmandu.
  • Mike’s if you want to sit by the lake and watch the world go by.
  • Moondance if you like seafood.
